Heat according to the power demand of the house

The Tehowatti Air Split system consists of three parts:

  1. The outdoor unit is a Split air-to-water heat pump that takes energy from the outdoor air and transfers the heat thus obtained to the indoor unit via a compressor.
  2. The indoor heat transfer unit transfers heat from the refrigerant to the water between the outdoor unit and the indoor unit.
  3. Through the indoor unit, heat is distributed to the interior and hot water. The energy content of the outside air decreases as the air cools. If the heat pump does not provide enough energy from outside to meet the needs of the property, the heating element of the indoor unit will automatically assist the heating and provide the necessary additional heat.

How the system works

The heat output of the Split outdoor unit of the air-to-water heat pump is automatically fine-tuned according to weather conditions and heat needs. This keeps the unit’s energy use as efficient as possible. Energy is taken from the outside air down to -20 ° C. At very low temperatures, the additional energy is obtained in stages by the heating element, which guarantees the minimum consumption of additional heat. As energy is taken from the outside air, ice accumulates in the outdoor unit during frostbite. Tehowatti Air is delivered with equipment that defrosts automatically if necessary. In all situations, the device takes care of defrosting the outdoor unit and draining the defrost water, ie condensate, into the sewer or drainage system of the house. This prevents ice from accumulating under or around the outdoor unit.

The indoor unit of the air-to-water heat pump distributes the heat produced by the pump and heats the heating circuit and hot water alternately. The indoor unit has an intelligent control system that adapts the operation of the pump to the heat demand of the house. The control logic continuously optimizes the airflow (speed-controlled fan), cold circuit flow (electronic expansion valve) and heat distribution circuit. In addition, the indoor unit has an electric heater that automatically takes care of heat adequacy even in the event of a frost. The indoor unit is only 1.8 meters high, but it has a built-in accumulator that can hold 215 liters of water, which is enough hot water for even a large need.

The equipment delivery includes the equipment and components required for installation. These components (including control automation, expansion tank, circulating water pumps, buffer tank, changeover and safety valves) are factory-installed and tested. This speeds up the installation work and ensures the high quality of the system.

In a 1969 house, the oil boiler was replaced by Tehowatti Air Split 6 kW.
