Various subsidies are available for heating renovation, both for a detached house and a larger property. In the support jungle, it can easily get confused about the options, so we put together a list of different forms of support to support decisions. Below is a brief summary of the most important things about each form of support.
ELY Centre’s support for those who give up oil heating
- Oil heating must not be left even as auxiliary heating
- EUR 4000 when switching to an air-to-water heat pump, a ground source heat pump or district heating
- EUR 2,500 when switching to other non-fossil forms of heating
- You are not eligible if you are applying for a household allowance or other allowance
- Searched on the basis of a cost estimate, obtained when the contract is paid for
- Nearly 11,000 applications for the autumn 2020 grant, € 10 million in additional funding for 2021

ARA energy subsidy
- 4000 or 6000 euros (per apartment)
- Mainly suitable for condominiums
- Oil heating may be left as a form of auxiliary heating
- An energy calculation is required, which is commissioned by an expert
- Often requires other measures to improve energy efficiency

Household deduction
- 4500 euros for a couple, 2250 euros a year for a single person
- The deduction is only available for the share of the work commissioned, not for the equipment
- May be the most profitable option when switching to geothermal

ARA subsidy for special groups
- For homeowners over the age of 65 and disabled
- For repair or replacement of broken or end-of-life heating systems
- Half of the renovation costs for low-income applicants over the age of 65 will be reimbursed
